Pilate is performing a public duty here, but is reluctant and seemingly powerless. When do you listen to the crowd? Has God ever given you a role that you find difficult?
When you see the Crown of Thorns, what do you feel?
What is the relationship between death and forgiveness?
What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus?
What does it mean to do a good act if you are forced into it?
When you have problems, do you notice others' suffering and needs? How can trust lie in pity?
How do you feel that Jesus showed the thief mercy and forgiveness in response to a desperate and minimal cry of faith?
Do we still continue to drive in the nails in how we live our lives?
How do our words, as well as actions, inflict cruelty?
